Mrs. Amy Sue Townsend, 69, of 1410 E. Gaston Street, Lincolnton, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Services were held at Victory Baptist Church, Denver, NC. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Townsend was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon McDonald Townsend; her parents, Clarence Weathers and Mary Goins Weathers; and 1 daughter, Mary Cook.
She is survived by 2 sons, Donald Townsend of Vale and Randy Townsend of Lincolnton; 2 daughters, Teresa Rogers of Shelby, and Melissa Rhoney of Vale; 2 brothers, Kemp Weathers of Shelby and John Weathers of Arizona; 1 sister, Kathleen Willis of Elkin; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Stamey Funeral Home, Fallston, NC is serving the family.
