Mrs. Kale was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Glenn Kale; her parents, Oso C. and Lillian Cooper Hayes; a daughter-in-law, Rachael Kale; 2 brothers, Bill and Bud Hayes; and 1 sister, Mabel Carter.

She is survived by 2 sons, Glenn Kale Jr. and wife Mary of Shelby, and Homer Kale of Kings Mountain; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and 3 sisters, Bertha Pruitt, Betty Baucham and Rita Conte.
