Gibsonville-- Jerry Ray "Peepaw" Green, 70, of Gibsonville, NC passed away Wednesday, July 5th, 2017, at UNC Healthcare Chapel Hill.

Born in Cherokee County, SC, he was the husband of Susan Whitesell Green and the son of the late Albert Green, Sr. and Irene Holt Green. Mr. Green worked in the construction industry. He enjoyed working on computers and raising his standard poodles. He was an ardent Gamecocks fan.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Green is survived by four children, Tara Green Coggins and husband, Kenneth, Terry Green and wife, Sandra, Barry Green, and Tracy Green; three step-children, James Younger, Wendy Simpson, and Pamela Burwitz; two brothers, Larry Green and Albert "Junior " Green, Jr. and wife, Susan; sixteen grandchildren and his fur babies, Ebony, Alex, and Charity.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Green was preceded in death by one son, David Ray Green.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Gibsonville. Graveside services will be held in Blacksburg on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 4:30 pm at Clingman Memorial Gardens, 1219 East Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC 29702 with Rev. Vernon Moore officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 3:00pm-4:00pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, SC.

The family will be at their respective residences.
