John "Sugaloop" Locket, 51, of Shelby, NC passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

He was born on December 31, 1969 in Lowell, MA to the late Mary Elizabeth Locket.

John was a people person and never met a stranger. He was a graduate of Shelby High School. John was a traveling entrepreneur of fragrant body oils, who could be seen all over Shelby with his rolling bag ready to sale his oils to anyone who asked for it.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lula Hope; one aunt, Nancy Young and one uncle, Joe Locket.

He is survived by one brother, Jody Locket of Shelby; two nieces, Angalek Locket and Niomi Goies both of Shelby; one uncle, David Locket of Lowell, MA; and many other relatives and friends.
