Richard Glenn Herring Sr., 67, passed away Jan. 10, 2013, at his residence.

Mr. Herring was born Jan. 3, 1947, in Gaston County to the late Woodrow and Annie Miller Herring.

He was a past member of South Marietta Street Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by sons; James “Jimmy, Nickie and Dickie Herring and a brother Donnie Herring.

Survivors include his ex-wife and caregiver Martha Trull Herring and her fiance’, Mark Calhoun. Children; Vickie Herring Teague, Richard “Ricky” Herring, Jr.(Angela), Mickey Herring (Vanda), and Holly Herring Bridges; one brother, Junior Herring; 10 grand and six great-grandchildren; and also nieces and nephews including his favorite niece Cheryl Herring.

Memorial services will be held 4 p.m. Friday at Benson Funeral Chapel in Mt. Holly.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will be private.
