Roy Clanton, 81, of 425 North Charleston Street, passed away Saturday, April 23rd, 2016, at his residence.

Born in Chesterfield, he was the husband of Beulah Pittman Clanton and the son of the late Fenness Clanton and Hattie Wilkerson Clanton. Mr. Clanton retired as a Truck Driver and was a veteran of the US Air Force.

In addition to his wife, he is survived three daughters, Shirley Powell, Sheila Clanton, Cathy Moore, all of Blacksburg; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by sons Roy Preston Clanton, Mike Dennis Clanton, and Kenneth Daryl Clanton. He was also preceded in death by all of his brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 25th, 2016, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Dale Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens.
