Mrs. Ruth Kathleen Davis Darnell, 87, of Shelby, NC passed away Sunday, October 10, 2010. Services were held at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Sunset Cemetery.
Mrs. Darnell was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Howard Darnell; her parents, Edward “Ed” and Annie Newman Davis; 3 sons, Howard, Harold and Harry Darnell; 4 brothers, Edward, Ben, Arthur, Worth, and Jeff Darnell; and 5 sisters, Irene McSwain, Sally Traylor, Mattie Tyner, Marie Gamble and Etta Davis.
She is survived by 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 daughter-in-law and caregiver, Helen Darnell of Shelby.
