Veter Mullinax Blanton, 92, of 510 Thompson Street, Gaffney, SC, passed away April 21, 2015, at Mary Black - Gaffney, Gaffney, SC. She was the wife of the late Rev. Charles Blanton and was a daughter of the late James "Duffy" Morgan Mullinax and Opel Lula Martin Mullinax. She was retired from Peeler Rug. She was a member of Kings Creek Church Of God.
Mrs. Blanton, the oldest of six generations, is survived by her daughter - Jan M. Davidson of Kalamazoo, MI; two step-sons - Wade Blanton and Virgil Blanton both of Gaffney, SC; three step-daughters - Patricia Miller of Murrells Inlet, SC, Judy Bratton and Kimberly Bratton both of Gaffney, SC; six grandchildren; thirteen step-grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; seventeen step-great-grandchildren; thirty great-great-granchildren; four step great-great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son - Oliver L. Mullinax and ten brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 24, 2015, from 6:30-8:00 PM, at White Columns Funeral Service, Blacksburg, SC. A Graveside Celebration Of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015, 1:00 PM, at Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery, Smyrna, SC, with Elder Manfred Martin officiating.
