Matt Patton, a graduate of the University of Michigan and a member of their swim team, won the 2014 Over The Mountain Triathlon in a time of 02:13:28. His tremendous swimming skills put him way ahead in the triathlon in the early stage and he was all his to win. This was Matt’s seventh triathlon and first victory. Six time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson also competed and came in 11th overall. The course began with a 1 mile swim across Moss Lake, then a 30 mile bike ride and finished with a 10k run through Kings Mountain.
