Aaron Heath Poteat, age 53 of Shelby, NC, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Atrium Health - Cleveland.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Melody Holloway Poteat of the home, his children, Jesse Aaron Poteat (Rachel) of Shelby, NC, Brianna Erin Wease (Tyler) of Shelby, NC, Tori Brooke Poteat (Tyler) of Shelby, NC, Destiny Sade Faith Poteat (Matt) of Shelby, NC, and Trinity Elijah Reign Poteat (Ashlyn) of Shelby, NC, six grandchildren, Zayley Erin Wease, Heath Tyler Wease, Bodhi Reign McNure, Brynnlee Rae McNure, Grayson David McNure, and Malakai Aaron Poteat, a brother, Reggie Poteat (Anna) of East Flat Rock, NC, and two nephews, Mathew Aaron Poteat (Sarah) of East Flat Rock, NC, and Noah Elisha Poteat (Natalie) of Montana.

Born March 4, 1971, in Cleveland County, NC, Aaron was the son of Jay Dean Poteat and Mildred Deaton Keller. Aaron was employed by UPM Raflatac for 25 years where he forged many relationships. The last few months he had embarked on a journey to help his son's start a family business. He loved the Lord with all his heart. He was the apple of Gods eye. All he ever wanted to do was raise his babies. Relationships were one of the most important things to him. Aaron was a force to be reckoned with. Knowing him was a privilege shared by many.

The family will receive friends on June 22, 2024, at 3:00pm at Encounter Church, 1905 North Limestone Street, Gaffney, SC, 29340.
