Grady Gene Costner, Jr., 71, of New Prospect Church Road, Shelby, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Atrium Health - Cleveland.

Born in Cleveland County on July 12, 1950, he was the son of the late Grady Gene Costner and Nellie Frances Sanders Costner. He was retired from the City of Cherryville and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Geneva Lee Blanton Costner; son, Trey Costner of Shelby; two daughters, Annette Zeug and Becky Costner both of Minnesota and six grandchildren.

The body will lie-in-state Saturday from 11:00AM until 3:00PM at Stamey Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel. The family will not be present during this time.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Goodman officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.
