Hugh Dean Canipe, 75, of Harris Creek Road, Lawndale, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at home.

Born in Mecklenburg County, on April 19, 1945, he was a son of the late William Wesley Canipe and Mary Edna Powell Canipe. He is employed with Royster Oil Company and a member of Palm Tree United Methodist Church. Mr. Canipe served in the US Navy during Vietnam.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, William Jack Canipe.

He is survived by his nephew Samuel Kevin Canipe and wife Beverly of Morganton; niece Jackie Canipe Greer and husband David Lee Greer of Morganton; great nephews and nieces, Kyle Orders and wife Ashley, Cole Orders, Ashlee Greer and Jacob Greer, Heather Canipe, Katie Ramsier and husband Doug, and Kristen Canipe, great great niece, Ashtyn Kate Orders and a special dog, Bentley.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Palm Tree United Methodist Church Cemetery.
