Michael Eugene Mellon, 69, passed away Saturday September 24, 2022 in Shelby, NC. Born in Cleveland County on September 20, 1953, he was the son of the late J.D. Mellon and Ruth Walker Mellon.

Mike is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ruth Bowen Mellon, his two sisters, Kathy Hoyle and Patty Bell, two step-children, Natasha Richards and Jason Earls, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, as well as, three nieces and three nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Neal Efird officiating. The family will receive friends the night before from 6 - 7:30PM at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in the Mausoleum of Cleveland Memorial Park.
