These Daughters of the American Revolution learned that quilts were a means of communication on the Underground Railroad

These Daughters of the American Revolution learned that quilts were a means of communication on the Underground Railroad. Quilts were hung on clothes lines to give direction and encouragement to the slaves finding their way north to Canada. Several members of the Benjamin Cleveland Chapter painted Barn Quilts at Workshop Shelby in commemoration of American Heritage. Also attending the Quilt workshop were Marywinn Amaya and Beth Gerhart.
